6- The Massacre of the Innocent
By the order of King Herod, the male infants under two are killed by the soldiers. In Bethlehem the King is seated on a throne, giving orders to his soldiers. On the upper right of lunette, a mother is hiding his son and below that, a soldier is stabbing before a mother.
7-Massacre of Innocent
Upper part depicts a baby on the tip of the spear of a soldier. Below, there are two soldiers slaughtering babies.
8-The Flight of Elizabeth
Elizabeth, the mother of John the Baptist runs away from the soldiers by hiding in a cave the entrance of which is closed by a rock. The soldier is depicted with a sword and its sheath running after them.
9-Passover
For the feast of Passover, the young Christ, his mother, Joseph and his sons to Jerusalem. The lunette is circled with the medallions of the Saints.
10- River Jordan
The first northern vault is depicted with Jesus and John the Baptist. In the first scene, they are standing near River Jordan. John the Baptist is inviting people to get baptized to get rid of their sins. He wears brown clothes and has a cross and monograms on his halo. Christ is standing in front of him. There are two men behind Christ. He is signing benediction with his right hand and holding a scroll with the left one.
There is also a heron killing a snake in the river, this scene represents the redeem of the sins.
In this scene, we see Jesus fasting for forty days. Satan with a dark complexion and wings comes and gives him a stone. He ask him to turn it to bread but Jesus declines him.
